In-home birthday parties are my favorite kind to document (the mess is real, the decorations are chosen with love, and everyone’s on their own turf). This East Bay gathering had all of that warmth: a living room cleared just enough for dancing, a kitchen full of family, and a birthday kid who had absolutely no interest in slowing down. Those are the best kinds.
