Photography in a Quieter Corner of Marin
Woodacre is quieter than most of the towns I shoot in — fewer people, more trees, and hills close enough that the sun dips behind them a little earlier than it does elsewhere in Marin. If we're planning a golden hour session out here, it's worth building in some extra buffer before sunset for that reason.
Some Woodacre families want a session close to home — the old golf course or Roy's Redwoods, ten minutes from the front door. Others use it as a jumping-off point, heading further out toward Inverness or Point Reyes to try somewhere entirely new. Either way works. I come to you, or we go find the spot.
Favorite Locations in Woodacre
The Old Golf Course
Open space, big trees, and a creek running through it — the old golf course is one of my favorite Woodacre spots. It photographs like a private meadow rather than a golf course, with plenty of natural shade and open sky to work with.
Roy's Redwoods
Roy's Redwoods Open Space Preserve is classic West Marin — still, shaded, and a little bit magic. It's a favorite for families who want that deep-woods, dappled-light feel without driving all the way to Muir Woods.
In Your Home
Woodacre homes tend to feel tucked into the landscape — surrounded by trees, close to the hills. In-home sessions here are unhurried and full of that same soft, wooded light.
Exploring Further
Some families like to use a Woodacre session as an excuse to explore — heading out toward Inverness or Point Reyes for something new. If you're up for the drive, I am too.

At the old golf course, Roy's Redwoods, or in your home. 45–60 minute sessions capturing your family exactly as it is — the laughter, the tenderness, the way you are together.
Maternity Photography
Best between 28–36 weeks. The old golf course and Roy's Redwoods both make for beautiful, unhurried maternity settings. In-home sessions work just as well.
