Baker Beach in summer fog. Cass expected the gray (San Francisco mornings deliver that) but this family brought the warmth anyway. Three sessions now with them: maternity, newborn, family. Each time, they show up the same way. Present. There with each other.

The fog softened everything. Silhouettes against the cliffs, bare feet in wet sand, a toddler’s arms spread wide with actual joy. The older boy held his dad’s hand on the misty beach. Mom and the littlest one on driftwood, turning shells over in soft light. The kind of session where you forget you’re trying to catch something (it’s just already there).

Overcast Marin light, windswept trails, the walk down worth every step. This family made it easy.
