Sparkly shoes on concrete. A child in white tights and a floral dress, standing still for just a moment in Downtown Larkspur. This family had chosen the spot themselves (it meant something to them). Redwood trees towering overhead, rich amber ground, dappled light filtering through the canopy all afternoon.

Cass watched them move through the forest. Parents and kids hand-in-hand on shaded paths. A father lifting his son, both laughing. A mother closing her eyes while holding her toddler close. Two siblings crouching together to examine a fallen log, genuinely curious about what they’d found. The kind of afternoon where everything feels unhurried.

The redwoods did what they always do: provided shade on a sunny day and turned the whole session into something warm and grounded. No fighting the light here. Just family, trees, and the space between them.
