A young girl in burgundy gingham, hair backlit by late-day sun. That’s where this session started, downtown San Anselmo, just five minutes from Cass’s home. The kind of place she shoots often: filtered golden light, the block party energy of Live on the Ave just steps away, families moving through familiar streets.

There’s a tenderness here that comes through in every frame. Mom and daughter heads close. Sisters gazing at each other. Dad holding his little one while mom wraps around them both. The gingham dress appears and reappears (consistent, grounding). Brick walls, weathered green doors, dappled sun through tree branches. The light does what it does best at that hour: makes everything warm.

Cass loves shooting here towards the end of day. This family showed up, and the afternoon did the rest.
