There’s something about late morning light pouring through East Bay windows that just works. This family knew it too. They weren’t performing for the camera, they were just being themselves. The baby was absolutely precious, all soft and sleepy in mom’s arms. The older kids had that unselfconscious joy that disappears the second you tell them to smile, but it showed up anyway because they were genuinely happy.

What struck me most was how tactile everything felt. Hands reaching toward faces. Siblings touching gently. Parents holding their kids close on rumpled beds and living room sofas. No one was trying to look perfect. The striped cardigan, the yellow paper crown, the balance bike on the driveway. These weren’t styled props. They were just how this Marin County family lived, and the natural light made it all glow without trying.

These are the sessions I love most. No fancy setups. Just a loving family in their home, comfortable enough to laugh together, to be messy, to let their affection show. I’d love to be there.
