This family has been in front of Cass’s camera before (back when their little one was barely a toddler). Years later, they returned to Land’s End for sunset, and they brought the same energy: adventurous, sweet, willing to scramble down rocks to the ocean. The kind of family that makes a photographer’s job feel easy.

Cass started up top by the tall eucalyptus trees where the light was softer, gentler on their faces. Then worked down toward the beach as the sun dropped lower, catching that golden hour glow over the Pacific. There’s a photo of the boy alone on the sandy steps, just sitting with the trees behind him. Another of the whole family tracing their names in the wet sand, actually looking at what they’d written. Land’s End at sunset is a gift. This family knew how to use it.
