Muir Beach in January has a particular quality (the crowds are gone, the light is low and golden even at midday, and the whole place feels like it belongs to whoever shows up). For maternity sessions, that kind of solitude is a gift. We had the beach almost entirely to ourselves, and the light coming off the water made everything feel quiet and spacious in exactly the right way.
