Two Scenes, One Evening
The Palace has two spots I love, and they’re a couple of blocks apart, so I run them as two blocks on the same day. The first part of the evening is at the columns: those huge pillars with greenery tucked between them. The last hour is at the lagoon, with the rotunda glowing behind you as the sun gets low. You pick the scene you want when you book.
What to Wear Here
The Palace is warm stone: ochre and terracotta columns, green tucked between them, and at the lagoon the whole rotunda turns gold at sunset. Neutrals in the warm family belong here, cream, oat, camel, tan. For color, take it from the stone. Rust, terracotta, deep olive, warm brown. Cool brights are the thing that fights this setting. Getting There
It’s a block or two from the car to either spot, flat and easy. The Palace gets busy, especially toward sunset, so give yourself extra time to park and arrive a few minutes early. I’ll send parking and meeting details before your session.
The Light
The columns get soft, warm light in the late afternoon. The lagoon is for the last half hour before sunset, when the rotunda turns gold and the water goes still. The final session wraps up just before the sun goes down.
